Ginseng: According to the *Compendium of Medicinal Properties*, Ginseng is also known as: Yellow Ginseng, Blood Ginseng, Human Ginseng, Human-Skin Ginseng, Ghost-Capsule Ginseng, Earth Essence Ginseng, Jade Essence Ginseng, Earth Essence Ginseng, Divine Herb, Sea Fertilizer Ginseng, Wrinkled Yellow Ginseng, Whole Well Magnolia Ginseng, Liaodong Ginseng, Jilin Ginseng.

**Origin** The best quality ginseng comes from Jilin and Liaoning provinces in China. It is also produced in Changzi County, Shanxi Province, Yao'an County, Yunnan Province, and Shucheng County, Anhui Province. It is abundant in Korea. It is also found in Japan and the United States.

**Components** The main components are volatile oils, phytohemagglutinin, and hydrous carbon compounds.

**Properties and Taste** It has a slightly acidic reaction. It tastes sweet and bitter. It is slightly warm in nature and has a slight aroma.

**Indications** Ginseng is a powerful tonic for replenishing vital energy. It treats all kinds of weakness and tuberculosis. It circulates throughout the body, replenishes the Qi of the five internal organs, and clears heat from the five internal organs.

**Origin**: Produced in Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces, but the best quality comes from Mianyizhi, Shanxi.

**Components**: Contains the plant base of "Peruvian Peline".
